Hot

This tree at the foot of Dune 45 at the Sossusvlei in Namibia. It was thrilling hot, about 45 degree Celsius (over 100 F). Anyway just an impression from the desert, I still can feel the heat.

PP work, not much, shot in Raw, minor adjustment of brightness and contrast, converted to jpeg, small crop to get the border of the hill against the sky into the right upper corner. Resized sharpened using USM, add frame.

lovely graphic shot, strong colours and good general composition, Hans. Really has impact on the viewer, very strong. My only thought would be a slightly different angle to have more of the tree breaking through the line of sand and sky? But a lovely image and could easily see this framed and on the wall.

Oh, and great title - the shot FEELS hot!

Hi Hans,
A nice graphical composition with a good play with this digonal wall structure!
A marvellous tree being the focal point adorned with magnificent light.
Nice contrasting blue and brown colors.
A very sharp presentation.
Well seen and neatly presented.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hello Hans,

I love this for its beautiful simplicity of subject, its classical, diagonal composition and its fine saturation.
It's the type of shot that one sees in photography textbooks!

Hope you're having a great time ... including the heat!
We have just been promised the possibility of a double figure temperature by the end of the week!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Bom dia Hans,
Warm and raw colors convey a sense of heat which is increased by the strict diagonal composition. The image is unforgettable for its beauty and artistic quality.
Great one, cheers,
Raimundo

hallo Hans,
waouw, dat zijn nogal kleuren!! ongeloofelijk de lijn met de hemel en die duinen!

groetjes

Needless to say it looks real 'hot'.. I like the combination of the warm brown and cool blue here, diagonal hill top finishes it off beautifully, thanks Hans.

Hi Hans

Snowing here as I type this, so good to see some warm red colours of the hot sand. I like the graphism of the gaunt, dark tree, too. Tfs!

Bonjour Hans.
Belle prise de vue avec une transversale bien contrôlée qui donne une superbe perspective à cette magnifique image.
Les couleurs chaudes sont aussi parfaites.
Bonne journée.
Urs

Fantastic graphic shot Hans, with the strong diagonal division of the shot, with the two bold colors, and only the tree breaking the line. well seen, and very well taken.

Jimmy

Bonjour Hans

Photo incroyable!!!
La dune aux couleurs typiques de la Namibie a une pente vertigineuse!!Et le contraste sur ce ciel si bleu est fantastique!!
J'aime cet arbre rachitique qui rompt cette géométrie naturelle!!
Bravo et TFS.

P.S.: Many thanks for your visit and comment :-)

I like the triangles formed by the clear blue sky and the dune with the tree seemingly 'printed' in it , a most photograqphed tree at the foot of the non less famous dune ,anyway not one shot is the same , i appreciate this one as much for its clarity , i bet you had the time of your life there shooting around the sand in 45c temperature , ouffff , good job Hans,
Tfs ,
Carol

Hi Hans..nice shot...well composed. Nice tones. Well done.

100F?? ahhh we do that every day in the summer here Hansie! Sometimes with 80% humidity! It's a killer. People die here without AC! This is wonderful, my feeling is that I want to place that diagonal line corner to corner, but it can't be done without cutting the tree! Ahh so it is lovely as it is! Wonderful shot!

Hi Hans,
Very artisitic image with a strong composition and a very good rendering of colors! The contrast between warm ochred dune and blue sky is so vibrant. Thirst literally reads on this tortured tree. Very good rendering of the hot atmosphere! Annie
